The day my first stitch fix arrived…

Hello! Today was a very exciting day!! I got my first stitch fix!!! I was ridiculously excited and rearranged my schedule so I could come home early and wait for it! 🙂 The waiting was painful…and then very exciting! My mailman does not come until almost 5pm everyday. So, I was looking at my window…waiting. Then I saw him across the street and I narrowed in on my box! I was a creeper…stalking the mailman.

So, I dug right in, opened my box, and tried everything on….twice. I looked at my style card, created outfits out of the stuff I had in my closet, and really had a blast! It was like playing dress up!! So fun!

Collective Concepts Galen Printed Dress

The first thing I tried on was the Collective Concepts Galen Printed Dress. I knew it was coming and fell in love with the print. But when I first tried it on in person, I wasn’t sure. But as I wore it longer, the love came back! As for the fit, it is a lot more conservative than I was anticipating. It is longer than I thought and is less revealing in the top. It seems like a dual work and fun dress.

I also have this weird thing about how things need to be washed. I’m lazy. I love doing regular laundry, but hand washing is so ughhh! This dress is dry clean only. Big decisions here. HELP!

RD Style Joanie Short

I searched high and low for a picture of these before they came. I never found one! I was definitely anticipating jean shorts (since I had requested COUNTRY summer concert items.) BUT these were a good surprise. VERY comfortable and soft pull on shorts. They were a little big, I will have to size down. I had said I was a medium, but apparently in these clothes I am a small or extra small. Easy washing. What do you think?

Crescent Inna Border Print Top

Again, I couldn’t find a picture before hand. My first impression is that the two tops I got looked very similar. But when I tried them on it felt different. Needs to be hand washed.. Is this one a keeper?

Le Lis Rafael Crochet Trim Halter Top

I was excited to try this one on because I saw another blogger try it on and love it. Hmm. I really wanted to like it. I like the print and style…but the fitting was just…off. I worked hard to readjust the tie, pull forward, pull back…just..weird.Then there was the arm gaps. It feels comfortable on. Needs to be hand washed. Are the arm gaps and fitting issues noticeable?

Collective concepts Galen Laser Cut Dress

So, I got two Collective concepts Galen dresses in this fix. Which I found odd from the beginning. My intentions were to keep the whole box, so I was concerned. This dress seemed a few inches bigger than the other one, but both were marked as smalls. Again, as I wore it, this dress grew on me. I kept thinking I would have to size down, but as I wore it, I got used to the fit. Now, I did not know what color it was going to be…I was hoping and crossing my fingers that it was the pink one, but it was the navy one. Dry Clean Only (uggg!) How does this one look? Is it worth it?

SOOO? What do you all think? Which ones flatter my figure and coloring more? I feel that other people may be able to see this better than I can! Do I need to size down or up? Which ones should I keep? HELP!!! 🙂

Hello, round 2.

Hi there! So, I’ve always wanted to do this blogging thing. Last time I started, I was in a real weird place in my life! MANY good changes have happened since then! So this is the new me, the real me. I debated deleting my past blogs…and starting clean. But then, in reading them I remembered how I was feeling at the time and I those are all important parts of me that made me the amazing person I am today! 😉

Why am I doing a blog?

I want to use this blog to connect to other people in more meaningful ways. I’ve always dabbled in blogging and feel that it is a good outlet for me to talk about random things that are on my mind or thoughts I have. I want to connect with people who have similar interests. I recently have been reading blogs and watching vloggers in the areas of fashion and beauty and I like the community feel that happens when people connect over a common interest. And the therapist in me says the bigger picture for me is that I want people to get to know the real me.

So, what is this blog going to be about?

That is a good question! And the obvious answer is…about me, duh! lol But what I mean by that is that this blog will be all about the things I’m interested in. I am hoping to bring in all aspects of my life! So my life and interest would include: family, friends, work, fashion, beauty, cats, Netflix, coffee. So, right now I am expecting a Stitch Fix box (a personal stylist picks out clothes for you and sends them to you to try. If you like them you pay for them, if not you send them back). I’m very excited about this and have joined a facebook group who helps with the fun and excitement! So, I have looked at many blogs of people sharing their Stitch Fix experience, taking pictures of the outfits, and giving opinions. So, I want to do that!

So, those are my ideas for now. I’m hoping to get more savvy with the site layout and inserting pictures and videos.

Thanks!
